Lucia Chambers

Lucia graduated as a physiotherapist from The University of Sydney in 1994 and completed her Masters of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2019 (La Trobe University). She has worked in private practice in Newcastle for over 20 years and concurrently works as an Industry Clinical Educator teaching into the undergraduate Physiotherapy degree at The University of Newcastle. She has been involved in the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) for many years and is the current chairperson of the APA Hunter Regional Group coordinating professional development opportunities across the region.

Lucia has experience managing a wide variety of conditions including musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, sports injuries, work-related injuries, persistent (chronic) pain, neurological conditions, and geriatrics. She has a special interest in back and neck pain, osteoarthritis, orthopaedic and post-surgical management, and tendinopathy injuries.

Outside of work Lucia is a long-retired sportsperson of average ability, who continues to attempt exercise feats that her body is no longer capable of. Her approach to exercise has changed over recent years to ‘just do something’.

Lucia is available Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:00am to 12:00pm.
