Steven graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours – Class 1).
During his studies, he gained valuable experience in a wide range of areas, including: rehabilitation, orthopaedics, sports, musculoskeletal and emergency department physiotherapy.
Steven has gained experience working with both male and female athletes from adolescence through to adults. Through his involvement with Lakes United rugby league club and internship with the Newcastle Knights, his main area of experience is in rugby league. Steven has also worked with Cricket NSW along with local junior soccer, athletics and rugby union players.
Through his work as a PD/H/PE and sport teacher both here in Newcastle and during his time in West Yorkshire (UK), Steven has learnt the value of education in promoting development. With patient education as a primary focus Steven will ensure you understand the problem you are facing, and the reasoning behind the treatment strategies used. As Steven is a strong believer that if you understand your problems then it is much easier to take the necessary steps towards self-management and recovery.
Outside of work you might find Steven struggling through a yoga class or falling off his surfboard. He also enjoys strength training, playing any sport for fun, travelling and reading historical fiction.
